From the 1970s Rolex began using more robust sapphire crystals on their watches. Known as ‘transitional’ models, early examples were fitted with matte dials that were similar to the dials in the plastic glass watches that had preceded them, but many got replaced at service.

This fantastic example of the 16800 Submariner Date still has its original matte dial with super nice yellow patina on the hour plots that adds to the vintage vibes of this now very collectible neo vintage Rolex.
The bezel inlay has stayed a rich black colour and the pearl has taken on a yellow hue. The case is strong with thick lugs.

The solid link Oyster bracelet reference 93150 is in very good condition and has a clasp stamped ‘N 3’ and is fitted with the correct reference 585 endlinks. The watch was serviced by Rolex in 2022 and is still under warranty from this service. The Service card and service booklet are present.
